David W Webb is an artist from West Sussex who works in a variety of media, including oil, watercolour and mixed media. He has studied at West Sussex College of Art and subsequently Northbrook College, Worthing.

Since taking early retirement from a career as a Music Librarian, he has been able to concentrate on his activities as a painter.

He has exhibited work widely in the south of England, including Sussex, London and Swindon.

Working currently in a style derived from the impressionists and expressionist traditions, he is interested in both rural an urban landscapes and figures in different environments. Studio work is usually based on sketches and studies in different media made on location. Often full paintings are free interpretations of these studies.

David believes the artist to be on an unknown, exciting and sometimes frightening journey and is concerned with an essentially emotional response to what is seen and remembered.
